James R. Funk, PhD, PE
- Dr. Jim Funk has a PhD degree in Engineering and works in the fields of Biomechanics, Injury Causation Analysis, and Accident Reconstruction. His consulting practice currently focuses on, but is not limited to, Product Liability and General Negligence issues involving automobile collisions, pedestrian collisions, slips, trips and falls, railroad and industrial incidents, amusement park rides and other related issues.
- Dr. Funk joined BRC in 2002 after working as a researcher at the University of Virginia's Automobile Safety Laboratory with particular emphasis in lower extremity injuries. Since joining BRC, he has published research papers on head and neck injury tolerance, sideswipe collision reconstruction, pedestrian injuries, traffic casualty epidemiology, and occupant ejections in rollover crashes.
